I understand that both parties must agree with and sign the separation agreement in front a a notary public for it to be legal, but do both parties have to sign in front of the same notary public at the same time and location? We live about 1000 miles apart. Thank you
No, you don’t have to sign together. The second person to sign should complete the date on the first page and this will be the effective date.
