Hello,

Me and my wife have an agreement on our seperation. We would like to use the do-it-yourself method to file for our divorce. but it has not been an year yet since we separated (couple more months left). Do we have to wait for an year before starting the process - or can we prepare and go through with the paperwork and file the papers, just making sure that the hearing is after the 1 year mark.

You can’t file until 1 year and 1 day has passed…the courts will not accept them.

Coming clean is correct. You are not elligable to file until the year and one day has passed.
