Dear shelly513:

Greetings. Let’s be blunt (another pun, no?) - you are wasting your time. The real question for you is how to end it and get him to agree to pay you what you need, not attack the validity of the marriage. Don’t you agree?

I have another question for you… as you know, my “STBX husband” has a unique job description. Blatently, he is a drug dealer. I noticed on our marriage certificate, it is required for a Cayman Island marriage, the following information must be provided: birth certificates, photo ID’s, passport (or cruise line ticket for validity) and occupation. Right on our marriage certificate it states that he listed his occupation as a “roofer”. Janet, he has never been nor can he prove that he is or ever was a “roofer”. I have every tax return filed (he has only filed taxes with me the past two years and he did not file taxes prior to that) and there has never been a “roofer” career. Lately, he is calling himself a “landscaper”. He thinks it is funny because in a way he does work with “grass”. If I used the arguement that I thought he was a roofer but it has come to my attention what his “real” career path has been… could it be grounds that our “marriage” was done based on false pretense and that maybe we were married under fradulent circumstances?

Just a thought…?
