We are getting separated and we have 5 cars. Four in her name,which 1 of these i cosigned and drive she put 1000 down and made 2 of 9 payments i payed the others and i drive this car. another i put 1300 down and we jointly pay on. 3rd we jointly pay on and 4th is paid for but so so reliable. the 5th is in my name but does not run. she says that i can not have any of them but the one in my name that does not run. do i have legal rights to the one i cosigned on?
No matter how the cars were paid for, or how they are titled they are all martial property and will be accounted for the in the distribution, you have a 50% interest in each and every one of the vehicles so long as they were purchased during the time you were married and living together.
