There is no formula for determining alimony. Take a look at the alimony statute here on our site to view the factors considered by the Court. Child support is determined by the guidelines (we also have a calculator here on our site. Expect to pay a pretty significant amount based on what you have indicated here.

I am considering separating from my wife and pursuing a divorce because she has refused to go to counseling for a sexual issue we have had since day one of our marriage.

We have a 15 month old child and my wife is a stay at home mom with no income.

I currently make about $50,000 a year, we have no credit card debt, a $200,000 mortgage and only 1 car payment.

What can I expect my financial obligation to be during the separation period and what happens if my wife can’t find a job right away?
