Can I file divorce in FL?

I know that in NC, you have to be separated for a year and a day to file for divorce, but…

In FL, you only have to be separated for 6 months before you can file. I know that NC has jurisdiction as far as custody is concerned because we’ve already established a court case in NC…

But, does anyone know if I could file for divorce in FL once I’ve been here for 6 months (came here at the end of October), or do I still have to wait the year and a day and file in NC?

I cannot advise you on the law in Florida, but I can say North Carolina law does not prevent you from obtaining a divorce in Florida. The main issue I see as being a problem is that Florida will not likely have jurisdiction over your spouse.
