You should contact your child support offices immediately. You will probably have to file something - I don’t know if it’s still the Request to Modify form. Since this is pretty straightforward I don’t think you’d have to go to court but I’d contact someone right away so you can stop paying.

Greetings. Stop now. If you are paying through the child support enforcement agency, you may need to contact them right away and file a motion to modify/cease child support. If you are just paying your wife directly, stop doing so. Thank you.

Janet, I pay through NC Child Support Centralized Collections. If I file a motion to end support will I continue paying until the court date or actually stop paying now? Thanks very much for the info!!

I have 2 kids. My daughter will be 20 in Aug and has moved out of her Moms house. My son will be 18 in Aug., has quit school but got his GED and is working a full time job. Niether is in school. When do I stop paying Child Support?
