Well…I was able to respond to the civil summons from my ex. It took some effort but I was able to do it…and may I say, I would really hate to be my ex and getting the written response that he is receiving [:D]

Dear turtleslady:
Greetings. Usually with a domestic violence restraining order you will have a hearing in ten (10) days from the date of the initial order being entered. I suggest that you immediately speak with an attorney in your area.
Also, if you filed an answer, make sure that you filed the same with the court house and mailed him (or his attorney) a copy also. Thank you.

The response posted above is based upon the limited factual information made available and is not intended as a full and complete response to the question. The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. The basic information provided above is intended as a public service but a full discussion with an attorney should be undertaken before taking any action.
I recieved a civil summons from my ex-husband. It says on the summons that I have 10 days to respond to this summons at the Clerk of Superior Court. I was just wondering if anyone knows what this will consist of and what I have to do? All this mess is totally new to me since I was going to do things in a civil manner. I also have a court date to where I have to appear in court on this manner. One deputy that I spoke with told me that I had nothing to prove, whereas another deputy told me that I need to have all my “ducks-in-a-row”. The summons served on me is a no-contact order but everything that he has based this on are LIES and I WILL despute it. What now?..I really hope someone can help me.
