I was wondering what are the steps to having this domestic violence charge taken off of my record permanently. Does it need to be expunged or concealed? Im trying to find a job but kinda hesitant in doing so,because its on my background check. How long would it take for it to be expunged? Am i overthinking this? Im very very worried. I feel as if my life is ruined.
In the contact of a civil domestic violence order, it is not criminal in nature, and not on your “record” per se. If the offense was criminal in nature I would suggest you speak to a criminal attorney to determine whether having your record cleared is possible.
i have a domestic verbal abuse charge. it is not criminal by nature, would something like this show up in my background check by a potential employer.
It may, however the case is civil in nature and not criminal.
