I have a quick question… my husband and I have a legal separation in place that we created ourselves through your website, as we have very little shared items due to a short marriage. In the year and a half we were married, his dog destroyed carpet in my house (I am the sole owner) and our backdoor. Both need to be replaced, as I could never sell the house with the damage his dog has done. We always said we would replace the carpet and door, when we were ready to sell the house… obviously things went in a different direction (divorce). Legally, is there any way to force him to pay the money to replace carpet and/or door?
If your separation agreement does not address the issue, you may attempt to recover in small claims court.
