I am in the process of hiring a new attorney and in that process - The new attorney’s office asked what my ex’s name was so that they could check to see in their records if they ever dealt with him. This brings up my current question - My ex has been using an attorney that I interviewed before our divorce. We have since had a three day trial and we are may still have another hearing/trial in the future. How come my ex can use an attorney that I had a 30 min conversation with before the first trial and this new attorney can’t even speak to me until they check their records regarding my ex?
