How to make a long distance visitation schedule

I have a son in North Carolina who is 7 months I currently live in NY I’m moving back to NC and he’s moving to NY with his mother. We have a mediation scheduled soon and I need advice on how to set up a good long distance schedule to see my son

As your child is an infant, the schedule may be easier to work around than if your child was older and enrolled in school. The beauty of mediation, and reaching agreements outside of court, is that you have the power to create a schedule that works for you. It would clearly be unreasonable for you to try and enforce a week-on/week-off schedule when both parents live so far away, but give some thought to what sort of visitation you’d like to have before you enter mediation. Typically, if the parties live far away then the exchange point is somewhere midway between the two states.
