I have a voice mail

I read athos’s response to this on the other forum and I agree completely. You need to disclose this to your employer. I would save the voicemail because IF she does succeed in this, she can be sued.
I realize that you may not have been at this job very long, but a lot of people go through divorces. Play the recording for your employer if you can and make them aware of the situation. You may find some resources through work that you were aware of such as a legal aid or a supervisor that has a friend. Let them know that you do not intend to allow this to affect your work performance but that you may need time away from the office because this has to be taken care of in NC…Find out if your employer has any suggestions…

It’s a “threat” and nothing more. WHAT does she have to gain by trying to get you fired?

Unless your work record indicates you are unreliable, no one will pay this garbage any attention. She’s just full of it. And any employer who would listen to anything an ex wife has to say…oh, well. DON’T talk to her or listen to her!

lostinspace…I disagree…if the right things are said, the wife can indeed damage his career. It’s what happened in my and my BFs case. We both lost promotions and advancement and we were established in our careers. If we had been new to our positions, they might not have wanted to deal with either of us. My BF is having trouble changing jobs because the STBX made sure that she went out and had drinks or talked on the phone to colleagues.

(…and for those who don’t know my story…she thought we had an affair, but we didn’t, we simply started dating after the STBX asked for the divorce herself.)

Is this something that you could go and talk to your employer about it?

I have a voice mail from my wife. She says she is going to call my job and try to get me fired. She has made this threat before. I believe she will do this on Monday as she says. What can I do???
