My soon to be X bought a truck and had a nice outdoor building/shed placed on my property during our marriage. He paid for these two items with money he received from an inheritance. He was not working and basically lived off of his inheritance money for two years while living with me. If he can prove that he paid for these two things with inheritance money are they still considered shared marital property and should be distributed equally when we separate?

If he can trace the source of funds used to purchase the truck and shed back to inheritance money, then those items are his separate property and not part of the marital estate.
