If this case was not handled by child support enforcement you can file a motion for order to show cause. If it was handled by child support enforcement you need to contact them and let them deal with the situation.

Helena-

The ex pays payments only through CSE but all our case info is through the Durham Clerk of Court. I initiated the child support modification case on my own with no help from CSE.

Under these circumstance would it then be appropriate for the motion to show cause to be submitted.

On August 8, a judge ordered child support modification in my case. The order says the ex is supposed to pay the new child support and arrears of $1000 by September 1. As of September 17, he only paid $400 to CSE.

My thought is to submit a motion to show cause for his contempt because he has not followed the order.

Could someone offer some advice here?
