What happens in “alimony” court? Will I have to take the stand or does the judge just look at our situation (he had many affairs in our 25 year marriage) and decide the fairness? Though I have done nothing wrong, I am stressing over being put on the stand. I will be so embarrased if anyone in that court room knows us (small town). Can you explain the process for this in a court room. Thanks!
If you want alimony then you will have to put on testimony to establish you are entitled to alimony, and he will have the opportunity to cross examine you. Then he will probably testify you aren’t entitled to alimony, and you’ll have the opportunity to cross examine him. After all that is done the judge will make a decision.
