Not sure what Massachussets laws are, but if it were in NC:
Child support is based on your income, her income, health insurance costs, childcare costs basically. It’s a formula. There is a worksheet on the home site here.
If you have savings before you got married, and ADDED to it during your marriage, I BELIEVE she would be able to claim 1/2 of what was added during the marriage. Any asset aquired during the marriage is considered in Equitable Distribution. Assets are money, property, possessions.
If she is a dependent spouse (ie: not working and dependent on you) she would have a claim for alimony.
