Yes, it is true. You do have to be seperated one year. If you seperate 12/21 than you can get a divorce on 12/22 the following year. That is the law in North Carolina.
I guess it varys in each state. My friend file for divorce once she caught her husband cheating on her (Dec. 05) In March (2006) her divorce was final. She wasn’t separated more than 3 months. Wish you the best of luck!
