I am trying to separate from my husband, but things are not going well. He is desparately hanging onto a ‘gone’ marriage. I had an affair and admitted to it. No longer in a relationship. Husband traded communial property for 4 wheeler and promised to move out, he didn’t. He is very suspicious (I understand why!!!) The other night he suspected something and become enraged. He smacked my leg, jerked me around, tore my shirt and threaten to kill me and himself. I know what you are going to say “Get out!!” Not that simple. He is in law enforcement, I was previously battered in another relationship and restraining orders don’t do anything. He stated if I told or did anything to get him in trouble or tried to leave, he would hurt him seriously. Is there anything legally I can do without being in harms way. He comes home and tells me stories where women had restraining orders and the other party returned and killed/hospitalized them. I know these things happen as I previous mention my history. Thanks
