Generally, a marriage therapist cannot testify in court and what is said in marriage therapy is privileged information. There may be a very limited instance where the court would allow the testimony, but I cannot think of any scenario where a judge would permit it.

Your testimony is also evidence of abuse. If you have mentioned abuse to any of your other medical providers they can be called to testify as well.

Thanks. Unfortunately, there were no lasting physical wounds that required medical treatment. It is the problem with men being physically abused. Few report it, most try to explain it away or justify it. My personal take is that if you couldn’t do it to her without being liable for arrest, she shouldn’t be able to do it to you.
I guess the personal testimony will be the best that can be done.

…and if any guy out there is reading this, please, it is NOT OK for your partner to hit you. It doesn’t matter whether or not it leaves a mark. It doesn’t matter the gender. Someone who slaps, hits, or throws things at you, even if it’s infrequent, is abusing you. Whether or not you realize it on a conscious level, it does take it’s toll on you over time, and worse, your kids learn and mimic the behavior of their parents.
