Vacating aname off a deed

Talk to your mortgage lender and they should be able to tell you the process.

Dear CNeil,

I am sorry you have had so much trouble reaching attorney’s for an answer to your question. Based on your post I assume that you and your fiance never married. That makes your question outside the scope of family law. I would recommend you contact a real estate attorney for the answer to that question. One attorney I would recommend is Elizabeth Harrison at 919.834.4300.

HI I PURCHASED A HOME BACK IN OCTOBER 2002, AT THAT TIME I WAS ENGAGED. AT THE TIME OF CLOSING MY FINANCE AT THE TIME INSISTED I PUT HIS NAME ON THE DEED. THE MORTGAGE WAS SOLEY IN MY NAME, LIKE A FOOL I AGREED. WE MOVED IN OCTOBER 2002. IN DECEMBER 2002 THE RELATIONSHIP ENDED AND HE LEFT. AT PRESENT HE IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND AND I REALLY NEED TO REMOVE HIS NAME OFF THE DEED, I HAVE HAD FOUR LAWYERS NO RESPONSE. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
