I am non custodial, my youngest (8) is having major acedemic problems. My oldest (10) told me that they wanted to live with me, they made the decision. Step-parent is another issue. Custodial is aware they want to be with me, they told them.
Cusdotial is now taking them for counseling, stated they are confused but only after I said they should see a professional.
My question is: when they attend counseling by law can I have access to what is stated during the sessions. I have spoken to counselor, this is just starting and I know it will take time but I want to know what my rights are for obtaining this information. I didn’t want to ask counselor on the first phone call. This is in North Carolina.
In court order it states I am to have all information regarding our children.
The sessions are protected by physician/patient privilege.
