Divorce From A Different State

#1

My husband and I have decided to get divorced, it is an amicable and friendly thing, we’re just not in love with each other any more. But that is neither here nor there. He lives in Washington State, and I just moved to North Carolina. We want this fast and simple, what is the best way to approach a situation like this?

For reference, we were married in Nevada. The state website says one of us has to live there for at least six weeks to get divorced there, and North Carolina has a year separation first before the divorce. Washington looks to be the simplest state to get divorced from, but will it be an extra hassle since I live here?

He could probably file the paperwork and have you return notorized documents. If there are children involved stay away from the Soviet State of Washington. Their child support forms are a pain in the butt.
