My husband is being taken to court to have child support set by the guidelines by his ex-wife. There is also an unresolved issue wherein she doesn’t want us to have guns in our home. There is no basis behind it other than she doesn’t like them.
She says it is because my husband has PTSD. He is in the Army and is an Iraq War veteran. However he has never had anything remotely violent happen and he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. I have a concealed weapons permit and we are very safe with our guns. They are simply for protection. My teenaged son hunts and has a 20 gauge shot gun he keeps unloaded, in the case, under his bed. Can they make us get rid of our guns?
A judge could order that any guns in the home be kept in a locked safe or locked area away from the minor child, but based on the information you have provided, it is not likely the judge will require you and your husband to remove and dispose of all guns in the home.
