There is no requirement in our law that the custodial parent account for how the child support money is spent.

Hello,

When paying child support does the paying parent have the right to request proof from the receiving parent showing how the child support is spent on the child?

I have serious reason to believe that my spouse is paying child support money that is actually being spent on boat payments and car payements and other frivilous items and such. The reason I say this is because during conversation with my step-daughter she, numerous times, has stated that she has wanted to play softball, or cheerlead, or go on field trips, but is always told no because they don’t have the money.

They should have the freaking money. They have the money to buy a new pontoon boat and a new Camry.
