The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. My battle has been going on for over a year. My x believes I might have taped his conversations with his girlfriend and has been fighting vigorously to prove this. He has no evidence but believes I did this. The fool would call her at night from our bedroom. All I had to do was stand at bedroom door and listen to his conversation. Anyway this is costing big bucks to defend myself. I have already paid my attorney 38,000 and still owe her 7,000. Every month my bill is 6 or 7 thousand dollars. I have maxed out my credit card trying to pay her, used all of my money market acct and borrowed from friends. I have no more resources. My credit card minimum is already close to 700. a month. I cant pay anymore. Can my attorney drop me because she cant get anymore money from me? This is a lot of money to me. I retired in 2000 and took a reduced pension because I thought I did not need the whole amount. I cant change this option for several more years. Now I am struggling to pay monthly bills. I have another job of course, but it does not pay nearly what I was making before I retired. I was married 31 years. Didnt find out about the affair until after I retired. This is another thing that makes me so mad. He knew I was retiring so why didnt he tell me what was going on.
