Urgent! lawyer withdrawing from case

I am in urgent need of advice and most likely in urgent need for a lawyer ( who will fight for me) to pick up my divorce case as I am suppose to go to court in a week and a half for ED and my lawyer suddenly told me they have filed a motion to withdraw as my attorney because I owe them a balance of $4,800 and they want an additional $3000 on top of that to prepare for court. They know Im financially strapped and my ex spouse has always been the bread winner and they knew that when they agreed to take my case. My case also involves my husband cheating on me and moving in with his paramour, getting engaged before we were legally divorced and then getting married two weeks after the divorce. I already paid them $8000 and most of that went for them to file our conversation emails for several months and nothing has been resolved. I am at my wits end and I don’t know where to turn to for help.

See if there is any way at all you can find to pay your attorney’s fees that are due. It’s usually cheaper to keep your current attorney than it is to hire a new attorney (even at a cheaper rate) when they have to learn all the facts of the case and start from scratch. Also, if you are scheduled for trial in a week and a half, it would be nearly impossible for a new attorney to adequately prepare and represent you.

In the meantime, check out our Rosen Online Service. This service only costs $199/month, and could be a great resource for you to resolve your separation and divorce case if you are unable to keep your current attorney or hire a new one. You get access to a library of legal forms and you communicate with an attorney.
