Living in another state

Dear Rockwell2g,

The first thing you should do is to let your wife’s attorney know that you are looking for an attorney, and that you will need more time to respond.

Then, you will need an attorney in North Carolina to handle your case, since your wife and kids are here. You probably won’t have to travel to NC too often if you can find an attorney that will work with you over the phone and by email. You should contact the firm in Charlotte! Hopefully, they will be able to work with on on this case.

Good luck!

The response posted above is based upon the limited factual information made available and is not intended as a full and complete response to the question. The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. The basic information provided above is intended as a public service but a full discussion with an attorney should be undertaken before taking any action.
