Red Calendar Hearing

This may be a dumb question but what exactly is a red calendar date hearing? I know it is how you get a hearing date if the mediation doesn’t work. Why do both attorney’s need to be there? If you do get a red calendar hearing date is that a sign that the judge thought the situation was important enough to go ahead and get a hearing scheduled?

A red calendar hearing is a peremptory setting. This means that your case is a priority matter, and will be heard the day it is set.
