Speeding up Divorce proceeding

My ex and I are both ready to be done with this marriage and put the past behind us. If both of us agree to changing the date of our separation, can we do that in order to go ahead and start the divorce proceedings? We still have two months before we will be separated for a full year, but we both have discussed the desire to get it done sooner. If we can’t legally change the date, about how long will it take to finalize everything, when the divorce isn’t contested?

Thanks for your time,

Amy

No, you must be separated for one year and one day before filing for divorce, changing the date constitutes perjury. The entire process normally takes 60-90 days once the action commences.
