I just learned that one of the lawyers I hired on my case is the cousin of the woman who was the paramour of my ex husband. She swore to me that she did not know the woman. Was this conflict of interest?
If the attorney did not know the woman, and did a proper conflict check, there is no ethical violation.
However, I believe the attorney LIED about knowing the woman. Town too small. They lived in the same towns and fathers were brothers. Give me a break!
